

Joseph Granados Elias was born in Corpus Christi, Texas on April 19 th 1936. He passed away in Newport Beach, California on July 6 th 2017. Joseph is predeceased by his wife Ruth Elias. He is survived by his 6 children, daughter Suzanne Jensen, daughter Sharon Sardina, daughter Elizabeth Elias, son David Elias, son Paul Elias, son Albert Elias, 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Our dear father passed away Thursday July 6th, 2017 surrounded by his family in Newport Beach. He was a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was well known in the Santa Ana community owning many business for many years in downtown. He was involved with the Santiago Club in the 80's/90's and was part of Kiwanis Club of Santa Ana for many years and was still a member. He had a passion for his community and education. He spent his early childhood in Mexico, where he shared many stories with us. In his early teen years he moved himself to Texas finding a newspaper gig and supported himself. He lived in Chicago and then made his permanent home in California. He loved the ocean breeze. He loved to travel the world and educate himself with numerous cultures and languages. He spoke German, French, Italian, Spanish and of course English. He loved his family more then ever and his grandkids brought him great joy. You could find him enjoying lunch and gelato at Fashion Island just a couple months ago with hen or at one of their baseball games. He lived life to the fullest and had a beautiful smile to show. We will miss him dearly, but are thankful for the years we had him. We love you Dad!! Keep watching over us. The visitation will be held on Thursday July 20 th from 4pm to 8pm at Fairhaven Memorial Park & Mortuary. The service will be held on Friday July 21 st at 2:30 pm in the Waverley Chapel at Fairhaven Memorial Park & Mortuary with Chaplain Brad Stetson officiating. Burial and reception will follow at Fairhaven Memorial Park & Mortuary.
