

Pauline was born December 27, 1928 at the family home in Corona, CA. She was the sixth of six children born to Paulina and Giovanni Sampo. A 70 year resident of Orange County, Pauline had a successful career as an accountant for nearly six decades. However, her greatest accomplishment was as a mother, not only to her own children, but to her extended family as well. She often spoke about her family life on the farm, growing up through the Great Depression and World War II. While her sisters attended to the household chores and cooking, she was out in the fields baling and stacking hay.She was a 1946 graduate of Corona High School.
Pauline enjoyed traveling the world, especially cruising the high seas with her beloved husband, Ligio. She made a number of trips to the family homeland of Italy. One of her greatest joys was to be among her family and friends, especially at the holidays. She was the family host for Thanksgiving Day for over 40 years.
Pauline is survived by her two sons, James (Nina) Marzo and Vincent (Michele) Marzo ; her daughter, Catherine Lang; three grandchildren, Justin Marzo, Daniel (Jenny) Threadgill, and Dana Lang; two great-grandchildren, Taylor and Thomas Threadgill; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, godchildren and friends. Pauline was predeceased by her parents, siblings, and husband, Ligio Galasso. Pauline entered eternal rest on February 14, 2018. Catholic funeral services will be held on Friday, February 23, 2018, at Fairhaven Memorial Park Mortuary. Father Enrique Sera officiating. Interment private.
In lieu of flowers, Pauline’s memory may be honored with a memorial donation to a charity of the donor’s choice.
