Richard Joseph Wolfinger was born in New York City on March 3, 1942. He grew up in Queens, and then just prior to his teen years moved with his family to Long Island. He attended Newfield High School where he completed a three-year carpentry apprenticeship. Upon graduation he worked framing houses. Richard, while raising two young children, Donna and Richard, moved to Los Angeles, California in 1968. It was there that he became the lead City Building Inspector for the city of Los Angeles, and also opened his first small construction company. In 1977 he met Sandi, and they married in 1980. They built a home together, enjoyed some traveling and then had two daughters, Natalie and Meggie. His strong work ethic led to owning several construction companies, and he was well known and respected in the business community. In his younger years he enjoyed fishing, and in later years discovered his passion--golf! Richard was a generous man and a servant leader supporting his community, specifically, with organizations that helped foster children and Veterans.
He is survived by his wife, Sandi; his children Donna (spouse Brian), Richard, Natalie (spouse Amanda), and Meggie (spouse Dereck); and his grandchildren: Kyle, Brianna, Sawyer, Lillian, Quinn, and baby Emmett.
Richard loved God, his family and friends, and was a patriot who loved his country. Richard will be deeply missed, but our memories with him will remain with us forever.
