Born in 1955 to loving parents Antoine and Claire Canaan, Roger grew up in Beirut, Lebanon. The youngest of 4 children, he spent his childhood enjoying time with his siblings and the various adventures they would find themselves in.
After graduating high school, he went on to study accounting and began his professional career. Starting out as an accountant, he met Olga, whom he later married in 1991. They decided to settle in Paris, France and started their family, welcoming Antoine in 1993 and later, Raphaelle in 1994.
Roger always had a love for baking, which he decided to act on by going through a career change and opening a bakery. Olga later joined him in the family business and they both spent their days happily baking bread and pastries in Montmartre.
After spending some time in the US in the early 2000s, Roger caught the American dream and began planning to move his family to the States. The 4 Canaans later settled in Orange County in 2010, where they began their new California lives. Keeping his love for baking alive, he was known to always bake some delicious chocolaty goodies to share at any gathering.
Roger had a taste for life like no other and approached every challenge with the utmost positivity. He was fiercely devoted to his family: wife Olga, children Antoine and Raphaelle, and the many friends he considered family. He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
