Russell Lewis Higgins

Russell was born December 15, 1927 to Russell and Marion Higgins in North Wildwood, New Jersey. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in October, 1946, serving for 20 years, retiring with the rank of Master Sergeant. While stationed in Southern California, he met and married Patricia Power in April, 1954, enjoying 64 years of marriage.

After retiring from the Marine Corps, he worked in the electronics industry, retiring in 1990.. He was an active member of Trinity Episcopal Church, Orange Grove Masonic Lodge 293 and Orange Elks 1475. Russell loved baseball, fishing, woodworking, and restoring furniture in partnership with his wife in their antique business.

Russell is survived by his wife, Patricia; sons Greg (Valerie) and Mark; grandchildren Zachary (Kim), Ryan, Samantha and Brianna; one sister and one half-sister; and many loving nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at 11:00 am at Trinity Episcopal Church of Orange with Reverend Jeannie Martz officiating. Immediately following the service there will be a reception in the parish hall. Russell will be interned at Riverside National Cemetery on Wednesday, November 7th at 9:30 am. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in Russell’s name to Trinity Episcopal Church or the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society
