Wallace Leo Henningsen of Laguna Woods died peacefully on December 13, 2020. Wallace was born on January 23, 1922, in Miles, Iowa to Leo and Edna Henningsen. He graduated from Preston High School in Preston, Iowa. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1940 and spent most of his six-year enlistment in the South Pacific. Wally was a survivor of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. Following World War II, he entered the manufacturing industry and was an industrial engineer for many years. He married Maxine Ehler on June 23, 1944, in Miles, Iowa. The family moved to California in 1958. He was a longstanding member of the Geneva Presbyterian Church in Laguna Hills. He was preceded in death by his wife Maxine. He is survived by his two sons, Richard and Mark Henningsen, daughters-in-law Sheri and Debbie Henningsen, grandsons Scott, Gerrit, and Preston Henningsen, and granddaughter Lisa Penna. He is also survived by five great-grandchildren. Funeral arrangements will be held privately.
