William John Tuman Jr. born June 12, 1942, passed away unexpectedly on July 26, 2024

Bill was born in Chicago, Illinois, to William John Tuman Sr. and Gwendolyn Tuman. He was an only child. Bill lived in Panama, Illinois, with his grandparents and mother while his father was in the Navy. Bill and his mother moved to Long Beach, California, in 1945 when he was three. Bill attended Long Beach Wilson High School, where he was a part of the Men's Gymnastic Team. He specialized in both the bars and rings.

His love of cars and engines began early, leading to his first job at a gas station. However, he quickly joined the apprentice program with the Carpenters Union, from which he retired in 2010. He ensured that the work he and his crew completed was of the highest professional standard.

He met the love of his life Sandra Sue Kinney when she was 15 at the beach in 1960, and they were married on January 25, 1963, daughter Sheri Sue was born on December 18, 1963, and son William John lll was born on January 15, 1968, the family resided in Garden Grove California for eight years and moved to Fountain Valley in 1973 where many lifelong friendships were formed block parties, vacations, and many River trips.

His children married wonderful spouses, Craig and Diane, and Bill was blessed with five precious grandchildren: Robert, Brittney, Dylan, Madison, and Isabel. He was also blessed with 10 great-grandchildren: Riley, Cade, Danika, Hayden, Dallas, Everly, Charlotte, Riggs, Presley, and Lottie, who he loved with all of his heart.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, William and Gwen, his stepfather Harry Steffan, his brother-in-law Jess, his sister-in-law Karen, his dear friends, Tom Fisher, Ward Macey, and Peggy Oosdyke, and many others. His gracious and friendly personality will be missed by all who knew him.
