Born in Muskegon Heights, Michigan, November 24, 1929. Anthony was preceded in death by Dorothy A. Drouillard LaPres his first wife of 32 years and mother of their 6 children Judy McMahon, Lynnette Hoelscher, Andre LaPres (deceased), Pierre LaPres, Leigh LaPres and Drew LaPres.
He was also preceded by Lillian Mello-LaPres his wife of 28 years and mother of their 7 step children Janette Mello, Linda Henderson, Louis J Mello, James Mello, Daniel Mellow, Michelle Mello-Bjorkman and Patrick Mello (deceased).
“Tony” was a 1947 graduate of St Jean’s High School in Muskegon, Michigan after 12 short years. He was an Engineering graduate of Marquette University.
In 1950 he joined the US Air Force and served as a pilot of All-Weather Interceptor Aircraft (F-94C and F-89D).
He was employed by Brunswick Corp Muskegon, MI and then Cornell Aeronautical Lab in Buffalo, NY. He moved to California in 1983 and retired from Calspan Corp at NASA Ames Research Center in 1996.
A member of St Martin of Tours Church, American Legion Post 419, Portuguese Fraternal Soc of America, I.C.F. Branch 391, Sizzling Senior Dance/Aerobics of Santa Clara, and other Ballroom dance groups.
Tony loved the Lord, his family and friends. He loved life and was grateful for the kindness of friends and family alike
