Anton Morec

Ret. Sgt. Anton Morec, age 77 years-old, of Santa Clara, California, died peacefully in the comfort of his home in the early hours of August 4th, 2025. Officer Morec graduated from the Police Academy and spent his entire career working in law enforcement. He was the youngest graduate of his class and spent 32 years with the Santa Clara Police Department and served in a variety of roles until his retirement. Anton was born in California to Anton J. and Frances Morec. Anton was preceded in death by his mother (Frances), his father (Tony), and his sister (Marge). He is survived by his brother Richard (Chris) Morec. Anton enjoyed spending time with companions Loro Paterson and Marjorie Short.

Anton was devoted to his community. Morec served as President of the Santa Clara Rotary Club in 2010-2011. When not serving in the community, Anton enjoyed exploring the great outdoors with his Jeep. Mr. Morec was also an avid Catholic and enjoyed attending Sunday services with friends and neighbors.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, August 25, 2025 from 12pm to 1pm PDT at Saint Lawrence the Martyr Catholic Parish in Santa Clara, California. Reception at Saint Lawrence after mass for those to gather and remember Anton. Committal service for close friends and family will take place from 1:30pm to 2:30pm at Gate of Heaven Catholic Cemetery in Los Altos, California. A Celebration of Life for Anton, at one of his favorite restaurants, will be held at a later date.
