

Dr. Bulent Jajuli, 94, a longtime resident of Santa Clara, CA, passed away on April 1, 2014 at Belmont Village of Sunnyvale. He was born and raised in Istanbul, Turkey, where his parents Dr. Fuat Jajuli of Albania and Gertrude Jajuli of Germany instilled a lifelong love of nature and the arts. Dr. Jajuli studied medicine in France and Germany before moving to the United States to complete his residency in New York City, where he met his beloved wife Gladys (Davis Henson). They were married on December 29, 1950 in Ankara, Turkey and lived in Istanbul and Ankara for several years. Upon their return to the U.S. in 1958, they lived in Claremont, New Hampshire, Maine, and Charlottesville, Virginia while he served in the U.S. Navy. They finally settled in Santa Clara where he practiced medicine at Kaiser Permanente in the Department of Medicine from 1971-1988. Bulent and Gladys enjoyed a wonderful life together of art, music, nature and environmentalism for 58 years. An avid skier, he was grateful to have found a wonderful community of friends and colleagues in Santa Clara with whom he shared many memorable ski trips. Dr. Jajuli was predeceased by his wife Gladys in 2008. He is survived by his first cousin Guner (Jajuli) Dino of Massachusetts and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Monday, May 19, 2014 at 4:00 pm at Lima Family Santa Clara, 466 N. Winchester Blvd., Santa Clara, CA 95050.
