

Carmela Miceli passed away at the age of 96 on Sunday, January 2, 2022 in San Jose, California. Carmela was born on August 2, 1925 in Tripi, Provence of Messina, Sicily to Giuseppe Arcoraci and Rosa Lombardo. She was a fierce, loyal, and extremely loving Mother, Nonna, and Great Grandmother. Carmela was the original Matriarch who came to the United States to start a better life. In 1961, she married her husband Samuel Miceli Jr. and in 1963 welcomed her only child Marie. The bond between her and her daughter was extremely close, and her wish to finally become a wife and mother were realized.
Carmela’s greatest desire was to be surrounded by those she loved the most which were her daughter, grandson, granddaughter, and all six of her great grandchildren. Never a day went by that they were not far from her thoughts. Carmela was loved by many including her nieces and nephews who viewed her as their second mom. Carmela was fortunate enough to own and operate her own daycare center for over twenty years. Carmela is survived by her loving daughter Marie Romero, son-in-law Basil Romero Jr., grandson Jason Romero, and granddaughter Samantha Glincher. She is also survived by her granddaughter-in-law Yvonne Romero, grandson in-law Joshua Glincher, and her great grandchildren Grace, Lily, EllieMarie, Emilia, Trevor, and Bryce. Her unforgettable unique personality and loving spirit will be missed by all those who were blessed to know her and be welcomed into her family circle. Carmela was predeceased by her husband Samuel Miceli Jr., father Giuseppe Arcoraci, mother Rosa Lombardo, sister Maria Panti, brothers Vincenzo Arcoraci, Peppino Arcoraci, Antonio Arcoraci, and sister Domenica Maimone.
Friends and family are invited to a visitation on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 from 5-9PM with the Rosary beginning at 7PM at Lima Family Santa Clara Mortuary, 466 N. Winchester Blvd. On Wednesday, January 19, 2022 the funeral mass will be begin at 11AM at Queen of Apostles Church, 4911 Moorpark Ave in San Jose with the Interment to follow at 12:30PM at Santa Clara Mission Cemetery.
