Carolyn Eloise Rodriguez-Valerio

April 19, 1950 – February 22, 2025

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Carolyn (Caye) Rodriguez-Valerio, devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, who passed away peacefully on February 22, 2025, in Castro Valley, CA, at Eden Medical Center. Caye was born on April 19, 1950, in Baltimore, Maryland, to Raymond Harold McCrorey, Sr. and Helen Eloise Montoya. She spent her lifetime in Santa Clara, CA, where she attended Buchser High School (now known as Santa Clara High School) and went on to work in the Silicon Valley as an electronics technician, followed by the loving dedication of her time to her grandchildren as their devoted babysitter.

Caye was a mother to Shelly (Jose) Quiroz, Christine (Mara) Rodriguez, Greg Rodriguez, and Sharon (Russ) Rodriguez-Kitt. She cherished her role as a grandmother to Anthony Rodriguez, Vanessa Duenes, Andrew Rodriguez, DeAnna Angeles, Vincent Rodriguez, Samantha Quiroz, Loren Quiroz, Gabriel Kitt, Viviana Rodriguez, Valentina Rodriguez, and several great-grandchildren. She was a sister to Linda Giansanti, Dolores McCrorey, Raymond McCrorey, Jr., and Cathy DiBene. She is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Raymond. She cherished the idea of family, and her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were always in her thoughts. Caye will be remembered for her everlasting beauty and vibrant personality. She was never afraid to speak her mind or strike up a conversation with anyone.

A memorial service to celebrate Caye’s life will be held on Saturday, April 19th, at Lima Family Mortuary, 466 North Winchester Blvd, Santa Clara, CA 95050, from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM. Immediately following the Memorial, there will be a reception at Christine’s home at 3:00 PM at 21228 Montgomery Ave, Hayward, CA. Flowers can be sent directly to Lima Family Mortuary.
