To my Aunt Merc, Cliff, Tim, David and their respective families.
I am sorry for your loss and I send my deepest sympathies.  I want to share one on my memories.
As a young teenager we were visiting at the families Sunnyvale home. 
Playing around the house I noticed my Uncle Cliff was sitting at a desk or table doing some paperwork. I asked what he was doing.  “I’m paying bills”……. “One day you will have to do this too” …he said.  “Just remember to pay yourself before you pay anyone else”….he added.

It wasn’t until I was 23 that I began realizing what he meant from this great piece of advice. I had just begun my career and later in this year I married my wonderful wife.

I never forgot what he said that day because it inspired me to look forward and plan my future. He was a good man and I will always remember him.

Cliff and Mercedes have been friends of our parents for many years.  Our parents are Tony and Lucille Gomez of Santa Clara.  Dad and Mercedes met while attending Santa Clara High School and the four of them established a close friendship years ago while taking bus trips to the Indian casinos.  The four of them truly cherished their time together and maintained a weekly visit over coffee and sweets at our parents’ home.  Dad and Cliff had a routine of going for haircuts together and an occasional pizza lunch.  The four of them took many day trips to Cache Creek, Red Hawk and Graton Casinos where mom played the slots while Mercedes and the guys ruled the 5 card poker tables.  Their weekly visits were honestly the highlight of our parent’s week and Cliff will be truly missed. The four of them shared many laughs and stories of the past as well as current events.  We hope Mercedes will continue the weekly coffee visits.  Cliff and Mercedes are in our parents’ thoughts and conversations daily.  Mercedes, we send you our love and condolences in the loss of “the love of your life”.  Your friendship is truly a blessing.  We understand the void that Cliff will leave, and we offer our prayers and sincere condolences to Mercedes and the entire Wells family.  With Love, Tony, Lucille, Cindy, Diana, and Christy
