Dorie entered into eternal rest on December 29th, 2011. She touched everyone's life with her love and gentleness. She will truly be missed by all of her family and friends. Dorie was born in Sprecklesville, Maui, Hawaii. Her family emigrated to California. Dorie's father died at the age of 47, so she and her siblings had to work at a very young age to support her family during the depression. At the age of ten, she was working full time picking asparagus in Suisun City. Dorie worked at Rosenberg's Packing House for twenty years and also ran The Old Homestead Maple Shop with her husband, Melvin. Dorie was preceded in death by her parents Dolores (Ecos) and Mateo Lorente, her husband Melvin Glandt, her siblings Joe Lorente (Angie), Cecelia Rivas (Marcellino), Tommy Lorente (Dade), Carrie Anaya (Pepe), Louise Moreno (Joe), and Ralph Lorente (Muriel), and three step-children Myron Glandt, Gary Glandt, and Clara Lue Glandt. She is survived by her step-daughter Harlene Dare, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members. There will be a Visitation, Rosary, and Funeral for Dorie at Lima Family Santa Clara Mortuary, 446 N. Winchester Blvd. Visitation will begin Friday January the 6th, 2012 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. , and the Rosary will follow at 7 p.m on Friday. Funeral Services will be Saturday January the 7th, 2012 at 9:30 a.m. at Lima Family Mortuary Santa Clara. Interment will take place at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
