Don attended Santa Clara High School where he played football and graduated in 1946. He married Claire Silva in 1951 and they had four children: Donna Marie, Judith Anne, Donald James and June Marie. In 1959, the family moved from Santa Clara to the Cupertino area of San Jose, where Don lived for the rest of his life.
Don worked for Southern Pacific Railroad as a brakeman until his last few years when he worked as a conductor before retirement. Don was hard-working, loving and generous. He loved and took care of his family. He was a great father!
Don's love of football continued throughout his life and he was a diehard "49er Faithful!"
