Elizabeth Grace Schirle

Born in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, Grace passed away peacefully on Monday, December 3, 2012 at the age of 88. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Bertram. Grace emigrated from her home to San Francisco in 1950. There she was employed as a teletype operator and met her future husband at a St. Mary's mixer in Chinatown. She was an accomplished seamstress and milliner and loved art and travel. She eventually became a United States citizen and spent 10 years as a Wells Fargo teller. Grace is survived by her children, Karen, Paula Muramatsu (Marc), Neal (Joanna), and Greg (Lisa); by her grandchildren, Keith (Genny), Kyle, and Kurt Muramatsu, Evan, Erin, and Lauren Schirle, and Cameron and Angela Schirle and by close friends and cherished relatives too numerous to mention. Visitation is on Sunday, December 9, 2012 after 7:00 pm, with the Rosary to follow at 7:30 pm, at the Lima Family Santa Clara Mortuary, 466 N. Winchester Blvd., Santa Clara. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, December 10, 2012 at 10:00 am at St. Martin of Tours Church, 200 O'Connor Dr., San Jose. Burial will follow at Santa Clara Mission Cemetery in Santa Clara. In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution to Catholic Charities of Santa Clara County.
