A resident of Sunnyvale for over 60 yrs, lost his battle with lung cancer on Saturday, January 14, 2012. Ernie was a proud member and supporter of the Knights of Columbus. As a career naval officer, he served his country for 30 yrs through active and reserved duty. He is survived by his son Ernest Altmann, his daughter Theresa Simmons, six grandchildren and eight grandchildren. He was a kind soul who always lent a helping hand. He will be missed by all who knew him and loved him. Memorial Service, Friday 1/27/12 at 12 Noon at Lima Family Santa Clara, 466 N. Winchester Blvd.
