Resident of Campbell
After 91 years of a happy, loving life, our mother joined the angels in Heaven. Helen was the daughter of Portuguese immigrants and was raised on a dairy in the Central Valley. She was a “farm girl” at heart and continued the dairy life after marriage to William L. Silva. After raising five children and caring for her brothers and sisters, she worked many years in the electronics industry. Helen was an expert seamstress, a fantastic cook and loved her garden. Her front door was always open and the coffee was always on. She will be remembered for her gentle spirit, kind heart and chocolate chip cookies. She leaves behind “the girls”: Virginia (Robin) Jaquith, Rosemary (Tony) Rebello, Barbara (Doug) Seeds, Kathy (Jim) Claus and son Bill Silva, Jr. Grandma Honey to Michelle, Joshua, Zachary, Scott, Jessica and Michael. Great Grandmother to 12. Sister to Ida Pacheco, Evelyn (Ken) Harp, Tony (Edie) Bettencourt, Manuel (Dolores) Bettencourt, Mary Andre, Dolly Mealey, Louie (Cindy) Dias, Alice Moitozo, Anne Barker and life long friend to Elsie Cabral. Aunt Honey to 34 nieces and nephews. Thank you to the caregivers at Campbell Village for their caring hands and loving hearts. Visitation will be held Sunday, August 3, from 6-9pm with Rosary beginning at 7pm at Lima Family Mortuary, 466 N.Winchester Blvd., Santa Clara. A Catholic Mass of Resurrection will be held at 11am, Monday, August 4, at Queen of the Apostles Church in San Jose, followed by internment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to Second Harvest Food Bank, where Helen volunteered for many years.
