

Jack Bonilla passed away peacefully at the age of 93 at his home with the love of his life Augustina by his side. He was a first generation Californian, born to Primo and Carmen Bonilla who were originally from Spain. Jack grew up in Sunnyvale and graduated from Fremont High School. He was a WWII Army Veteran and was awarded many honors and medals for his service as a medic in Europe and Africa. Jack worked at Minton's in Sunnyvale and later owned a liquor store with his wife Augie and Philip and Anne (sister) Labrador. Jack was also a member of American Legion, Sociedad Cervantes and the Spanish Heritage Club. He and Augustina, his loving wife of 67 years, traveled the world together, making memories that brought them much pleasure as they would often recount and reminisce. In addition to Augustina, Jack is survived by his sister Anne Labrador, sister-in-law Isabel Cosmes, god daughter and niece Nancy Dreyer Saign (Pat), nieces Mary Labrador Meeder (Toby) and Pat Labrador Medeiros (Paul) and Kathy Bonilla. Jack was blessed with many great nieces, nephews, relatives and dear friends. Jack is predeceased by his parents Primo and Carmen, his brother Primo, his sister Mary, in-laws Tony and Isabel Blasquez, brother-in-law Manuel Cosmes, brother-in-law Philip Labrador and nephew Jerry Labrador (Kathy). The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the wonderful staff at O'Connor Hospital, Vasona Creek Rehab, Hospice of the Valley, Dr. Kang and Dr. Gallo as well as Betty Mendoza. Family and friends are invited to the Visitation on Thursday, August 29th at 10AM with the Funeral Service at 11AM at Lima Family Santa Clara, 466 N. Winchester Blvd. Interment will follow in Santa Clara Mission Cemetery.
