Where have all the good times gone? They are all locked away in my heart along with all of the LOVE I have for you Jim and Judy.  I miss you both so dearly, like you always said Jim, I was like your daughter.  Til' we meet again, keep smiling.  Donna

We all feel the loss of a great man.  Jim was a one-of-a-kind guy.  I will always admire him for the way he was - a little mischievous, always ready for a little laugh, and he really appreciated the simple things in life:  his friends and family.  Jim was kind and gentle to kids.  And he was never scared to take a chance on someone who needed a break in life.  He would take on your problems as his own.  Jim wasn't pretentious.  He was just honest and authentic - take it or leave it - an old school guy with a loving heart.
My grandparents lived next to Jim and Judy and were very close friends.  And so, Jim and Judy also became grandparents to me, my sister and brother.  This was an important realtionship for all of us especially after my grandparents passing.  I vividly remember the routine on the nights I would sleep over my Grandma's house:  wake up and walk next door to Judy and my Grandma having coffee.  Judy would always spring up and start cooking me breakfast and hot chocolate - not much better when you're a kid.
I remember all the pictures on the walls, the two phone lines in the kitchen, and the bucket truck in the driveway.  Most of all, I recall that Jim and Judy always took time to check in and make you feel welcome and that you mattered to them.  You never went hungry or felt like you didn't belong in their home.
Thank you, Jim.  Thank you for what you taught me and what you stood for.  Bless you.

I got a chance to know you 7years ago, and enjoyed our visits when I was home. I especially enjoyed when golf was on, I'd sit with you and watch a few holes. I'll miss you Jim Cope, even though I didn't see you alot these last few years, you was always on my mind. God brings people Into our lifes for whatever reason, and I am thankful he brought me Into yours. Rest In Peace my dear friend.

My heart is broken with the loss of a great man!  Jim and Judy were like grandparents to me.  I have many wonderful memories of Jim.  You are gone and will always be missed but never forgotten!  Rest in peace Jim, you are now with Judy!

Dear Cope family, you have a special place in our hearts. When I and my husband Omer met Bill at San Jose State University several decades ago, we had no idea how important a part of our lives you all would be. Especially Jim and Judy with all their love, opened their home and their hearts to us. When we needed a home we found a place to live with them, when we needed a job we found it in their family business, when we needed to laugh, cry, gripe, complain, or advice we always found the loving, caring guidance in them. I am deeply touched to even see our picture at the dinner table with them in the slide show here... We had such great memories at that table, Judy's pies, our Zonk games, my attempts to thank them with my Turkish cooking skills, all the family gatherings for holidays, birthdays.... if only that family table could talk! There is so much to write about the memories we shared... Perhaps the funniest, most memorable one is our trip (Jim, Judy, Omer & Leman) to Reno which deserves its own short story format... My biggest regret is the later years we have been away and our son Edwin could not have the luck we had of knowing Jim and Judy. I was able to bring him to their house one afternoon when he was around 4 years old and he did enjoy the swing set in the back yard that was left from Lacey and Joelle's younger years... It was a great memory I will always cherish, the happiness on Edwin's face when he was running around in the their backyard. Dear Jim, you were Bill's dad, but you and Judy were mom & pop to so many of us, I know we will see you again in Heaven and you will have that great smile on your face, waiting for us. We love you very much.

Jim's ready smile and genial spirit were so warm and welcoming; I always enjoyed talking to him at Cope family parties. He also took great care of our trees. I will never forget seeing him shinny up our 30-ft magnolia with a chainsaw dangling from his belt...a mere 14 years ago -- at age 76! Jim, your spirit lives on in the loving family you and Judy founded.

Pop,  I know you are happy now because you and gram are finally together.  Please hug and kiss Heather for me. My thoughts and prayers are with your family.

Jim, you have been my father in law for 38 years.  We've had some good times together and without you and Judy I wouldn't have met Jerry.  You said you picked the daughter in law you wanted for him.
