John was born in Palestine, Texas on March 1, 1939. He joined the US Air Force when he was 17, the Air Force is what brought him out to California where he served at Moffett Field. He loved the outdoors, loved to travel and make new friends. He was preceded in death by his sister Janie Wilkins and his mother Jewell Alexander Martin. John is survived by his wife Barbara, his daughter Theresa, his son Gregory, his brother Isaac and his older brother Woodrow and a number of nieces and nephews.
