A native of Salem, Ore., Mar. 13, 1935 - July 2, 2010, resident of San Jose since Dec. 26, 1955, lost her battle with cancer.
Graduated from Salem High School and worked in Civil Service Dept. for the state of Ore. capital. Worked for 1st National Bank, now Bank of the West.
Married Don Fisher July 28, 1956. Predeceased by daughter, Carla. She is survived by her husband, Don, of 53 years; sons Don Jr., (Nicole) and Gregory, (Sheryl); daughters Linda, (Rod), and Denise, (James); grandchildren Joshua, Dawn, Nicole, Courtney, Amy, Danielle, Ashley, and Kendra; great grand daughters Alexia and Kaiana.
She enjoyed cross stitch count of Thomas Kinkade portraits, cooking, baking, and spoiling the grand kids. She had many favorite sayings, two of which are: "character is found in how you treat people who can't do anything for you," and "if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything."
Her courage, strength, and love of life have been an inspiration to all who knew her. She will be dearly missed.
Visitation from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday, July, 9, 2010. Vigil/Rosary service at 7 p.m. LIMA FAMILY SANTA CLARA MORTUARY, 466 N. Winchester Blvd. A Mass will be celebrated Saturday, July, 10 at 11am St. Martins of Tours Catholic Church. 200 O'Connor Dr., San Jose. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Martins of Tours' school tuition fund.
