Our beloved son, uncle, brother, father and friend; Juan Antonio “Toño” Perales Jr., 36 of Alviso, CA, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2017 surrounded by his family after a valiant battle with a serious health condition. His devotion to his family and firm belief in God, helped sustain him thru his illness and is ultimately what gave him peace.
Toño was born to Juan Antonio Perales Sr. and Teresa Gonzalez Perales, in San Jose, CA on May 2, 1980. He was immersed in the Catholic community which would be his lasting livelihood from an early age. He was an altar boy for his parish as an adolescent and regularly offered his support at Sunday services as an adult. He attended George Mayne Elementary School in Alviso, CA, Peterson Junior High School in Sunnyvale, CA, and graduated from Wilson High School in Santa Clara, CA.
Toño was blessed with an immense, loving family. He was the fifth born of seven children and was continuously sought after by all his family due to his generosity and witty humor. Toño lived with his parents along with three of his siblings and unselfishly took on the role of a provider. He was also a giving and loving uncle who catered to the abundance of nephews and nieces whom will truly miss him. The simple daily pleasures of buying them ice cream or Mexican chips from the “Paletero” were some of the things they always looked forward to after school.
Toño was also considered a “Jack of all Trades” for his handyman abilities and was last employed with Howell Electric Company delivering materials to various work site locations. He loved the outdoors and mentioned on several occasions that he truly enjoyed his job because it gave him the opportunity to drive all over the bay area. No matter where he worked, he was well-regarded by his co-workers due to his strong work ethic and kind, soft-spoken personality which made him very approachable. Toño was very handy with his hands and loved wood-working; he built many things throughout his life including furniture, bird cages and also repaired anything that needed fixing around the house. He also had a passion for animals. He raised chickens, pigeons, parakeets and always looked forward to gifting them to family and friends. Recently, Toño took a strong interest and devotion to breeding “Bully” dogs and was looking forward to putting his dogs in AKC magazines and dog shows. Toño lived a very simple and selfless life and will be dearly missed by his family and friends and will be remembered as a caring, humorous and giving individual with a strong Catholic faith. He will be celebrated for his kindred spirit and charismatic personality. Our beloved son, uncle, brother and father will be deeply missed and he will forever remain in our hearts but we are comforted knowing he is resting in peace in our creators arms.
Toño is survived by his two sons, Elias Perales-Soria and Ricardo Charles-Perales; his parents Juan Antonio Perales and Teresa G. Perales; his brothers Juan Samano, Jose Emiliano Perales and his sisters; Teresa Carrillo, Isabel Samano, Maria Rosario Sanchez and Alejandra Perales.
