Katherine "Carrie" passed away peacefully in San Jose on June 24, 2014. She was born on April 7, 1919 in Maui, Hawaii. Katherine is predeceased by her beloved husband of 28 years, Frank Silva. She had 12 brothers and sisters who were also born in Hawaii. Her previous occupation was working in a cannery in Sunnyvale. Katherine loved spending time with her family, friends and her dog Bubba. She also enjoyed crocheting. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her son Ray Silva, daughter Kathy “Cookie” Penkethman, 4 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Visitation on July 2, 2014 from 5-9PM with Vigil at 7PM at Lima Family Santa Clara. Mass on July 3, 2014 at 11AM at St. Clare’s Church. Interment to follow in Santa Clara Mission Cemetery.
