Mark S Barrera

Mark Steven Barrera passed away December 11, 2022, at the age of 65. He was taken away unexpectedly from his family, and loved ones, and will be greatly missed. Mark is survived by his loving, and devoted wife of 37 years, Janean Barrera, his cherished children, son Mason Barrera, and his wife Allie Barrera, his daughter Courtney Utermark, and her husband Adam Utermark, and his brother Greg Barrera. He was born in San Jose, California to Charles and Ramona Barrera. He grew up in Santa Clara, California. Mark attended San Jose State University with a bachelors degree in marketing. He worked in the grocery industry for over 30 years, and was an admirable salesman. He loved sports, and was a true fan of the San Jose Sharks, Golden State Warriors, San Francisco Giants, and the 49ers. Mark loved his pure bred lab dogs Shelby, and Buster, and cared for them greatly. He enjoyed movies, music, barbecuing, gardening, and spending time with his family. He was a devoted family man, and will always be remembered by his generosity for others, and his uplifting humor.

We will be having a closed private service for immediate family only at this time to remember Mark. He requested to be remembered as he was when he was living, and did not wish to have a funeral, but rather a celebration of his life. We ask our family and friends to respect Mark's wishes, to celebrate his life, and the memories you shared with him. We thank you all for your kindness, and support during this time.
