Melecio Ubarre Jr. (Mel), age 50, of Santa Clara, California passed away on Saturday, August 7, 2021. Mel was born on August 6, 1971 to Melecio Sr. and Lourdes Ubarre. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration in 1994 from the University of Miami. He started off his career in the high-tech finance industry, but after 9/11 he felt a strong calling to serve and give back. He dedicated the rest of his career as a San Jose Police officer, serving over 20 years, including 4 years as a detective.
Mel had a contagious smile, was truly a genuine person who cared for others. He loved fishing, classic cars, and just more than anything he enjoyed spending time with his family.
He leaves behind a wife, Crystal Flores, two sons, Kai (11) and Cruz (9), parents, Melecio Sr. and Lourdes and many, many loving friends and family.
