Born on April 26, 1953 – Born to Eternal Life April 27, 2015
It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that The Finigan Family announces the passing of their beloved Patrick P. Finigan. Pat died unexpectedly of unforeseen health issues on the evening of April 27th (one day after his 62nd Birthday) in San Jose.
Patrick was born to John Sr. & Beverly Finigan in San Mateo. As the middle child of five children, Pat grew up in Burlingame. After graduating from Junipero Serra High School in ’71 he attended Santa Clara University where he met his wife, Mary. Together they raised two sons, Aaron and Sean, in San Jose.
Patrick is reunited with his late mother, Beverly T. Finigan and his late father-in-law, Bob Miles. He is survived by his wife, Mary Miles-Finigan; his children, Aaron (Jennifer) Finigan and Sean Finigan; his father, John Sr.; his mother-in-law, Sue Miles; his brothers and sister, John (Kathie) Finigan, Dave Finigan, Mike (Sandy) Finigan, and Maryanne Mullens. Pat was uncle and godfather to Robert Hanson, Meghan Finigan and Nicole Mullens as well as uncle to 4 additional nieces and 3 nephews. He will be greatly missed by numerous cousins, and many more whom he loved and who loved him.
He spent over 40yrs in the banking industry (from Pacific Savings to California Federal Bank to First National Bank to Citibank to City National Bank), always known to put his customers and colleagues ahead of himself.
Patrick was a bright, compassionate, loving, trustworthy, and respected man who carried himself with humility and integrity. He leaves behind a large legacy, described as friend, confidant, and source of wisdom, compassion and joy. He was a mentor, colleague, and friend to many.
Ever the competitive individual, he loved golf, baseball, and gambling. Pat spent many vacations in Capitola, Lake Tahoe, or cruising. He sought to put family first however it presented itself: in private education for his sons, in special vacations to create family memories, in changing bandages or giving shots for his wife, or simply being the kind, gentle, and compassionate soul of Patrick Philip Finigan.
There will be a Vigil service with sharing of stories on Friday, June 12th at the Lima Family Mortuary in Santa Clara at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 13th in the chapel at Bellarmine College Preparatory in San Jose.
