Paul Michael Schooss

Paulie was born in San Jose, CA to Robin Lynne and Carl Michael Schooss on July 5, 1982. He graduated from University of Santa Cruz in 2006, earning a Bachelor’s of Science in Computer Science. Post graduation, Paul was a “renaissance” operations man, self proclaimed tech nerd, and most recently an engineering manager working at many companies, including ActiveVideo Networks, Livefyre, Klout, Uber, and SplashThat.

Known for his light hearted spirit and frenetic energy, he loved traveling and exploring new places, most recently visiting Key West Florida and Costa Rica. Paul was nomadic, moving every few years to experience all the different cities the world had to offer, living in San Jose, Santa Cruz, San Francisco, & lastly New York, where he met his beloved Heather DeFlorio.

His laugh was infectious and his sense of humor as sarcastic as they come. Being a huge tech geek he always had to have the latest new thing, often forcing his mom to adopt the same. He was kind, generous, and a warm spirit - welcoming and supporting everyone in his path.

Paulie is survived by his sister, Sarah Schooss and her husband Allan Fernandes Camargo Do Nascimento; his girlfriend Heather DeFlorio; their fur baby, Penny; and parents, Robin & Carl Schooss.

A viewing & service for immediate family will be held on April 8, 2022, with viewing from 10:00 – 11:00am, and service 11:00am – 12:00pm, at Lima Family Santa Clara Mortuary. A reception with refreshments will be held at the Lima Family Reception House (next door), from 12pm-3pm.
