As a young boy, Peter was an altar boy at St. Clare Parish in Santa Clara.
In June, 2007, after more than 30 years, Peter retired from the United Parcel Service.
In his lifetime, Peter was defined by a dedication to the things he cherished. Family, fun, food, sports, and when he could, fishing at Lake Del Valle in Livermore, often with his father. Peter loved being outdoors. He was an enthusiastic and long time collector with many interests including sports memorabilia, vintage toys, records, signed autographs, and movies. Particularly horror movies. He was a well recognized character at the many established flea markets and toy shows in the Bay Area where he loved to haggle for a good deal, and always making friends along the way. He was an avid San Francisco Giants, 49ers, and Oakland Athletics fan. AVID.
Peter possessed a truly kind heart and loved to laugh. He often had really funny insights or observations on whatever was on his mind whether it was sports, politics, current events, family, or even himself. Peter will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Peter is survived by his sisters, Linda and Diane Rossi; Linda’s children, niece Melissa Machens and nephew Matthew Machens (Ashley) and their two daughters, Charlee Rose and Riley Jo Machens, Peters’ grandnieces. He was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Teresa (Pino) Rossi
