You were the best role model I had in my life, and I will never forget how good it made me feel to see you proud of me for getting my life together. I wish I spent more time with you in the last few years. I know there was so much to learn from you still but as I pulled myself together, the responsibilities of the real world followed and I would end up busy for the majority of my time. Although it was hard seeing you that night in the hospital, I was very happy to be there as your heart beat for the last few minutes. Everyone was there for you and you could not have left that room with a lonely feeling in your body. I see bad things happen to good people a lot in my line of work, but seeing you in that light opened my eyes wide and made me realize how hard it is for a family to suffer the loss of someone as important as you from their lives. I miss you a lot and continue to keep you in mind as I work hard everyday to achieve my goals and make my grandparents proud.

Hey Dad, Merry Christmas! It's just not the same. You taking mom everywhere to finish up last minute shopping.  Having to lug all the gifts to grandmas house.  Then falling asleep in grandpas recliner while all the women gathered in the kitchen to gossip. 

Today I'm remembering the times when we were little and the whole family spent the night at grandmas. All the dads slept in the living room in front of the fire place while the moms slept in the family room guarding the presents.  When we would try to sneak down the hall to look for Santa, you would pretend to be asleep and grab our feet.  We'd run screaming down the hall and grandpa would tell us to get to bed. In the morning, you were the first one to wake us up to see what Santa brought us.  Then, you were the one putting all the toys together for all us and the nieces & nephews.  At dinner time you were the first one in line eager to eat then, back to the recliner to nap. 

It makes me sad that Christmas will never be the same.  My childhood memories will get me through today and all the other holidays you won't be able to share with us.

Dad it's been a month since you have past. Mom was really sad yesterday celebrating her 75th birthday without you & it was a month to the day you past away. I know you are proud of the service we gave you & I was so happy to see all your friends & family there honoring your life! Well, the family and home are just not the same without you here.  I sure am trying to help Mom as much as possible. However, I sure do miss our Saturday visits & lunches. It has been hard for me to go over the house on Saturdays, but I do visit Mom & take her out every weekend & call often. Mike has been really helpful to Mom & he sure is trying to fill your shoes around the house. He wouldn't even let me borrow your shop vac & it wasn't even blue. I miss calling you in the morning before work & hearing you say, "Hey pretty lady" to me.  I hope you are happy that I have a nice man in my life (you  remember...aka, George) he treats me very well & I am very happy. Although, it makes me sad that he didn't get to meet you because you passed too soon. Now, I have to run him by Dave for approval....LOL "God forbid"!  I know you would have liked him. I think about you everyday & I love having the picture of you from the service.  I have it hanging in my home. I hope you enjoyed the poem & blue pillow. Dad, I have wonderful memories of you & our life together as I stated in my poem.  I have cherished these last few years the most because I got to spend so much time getting to know you and vis-a-versa. I have no regrets and you even told me many times that you have lived a long & good life.  I believe you are in a good place & I will see you when it is my time too. I worked with bob at lenkurt. We commuted from mtn view to San Carlos together.I will never forget the day he wired my cars horn so he could honk at people from passenger side. Drove me crazy,especially when other cars were shaking their fists and flipping me off. Have not seen bob for 50 years yet still think of that day often. I just happened to be in sj for a week and was deeply saddened upon seeing his obituary in the paper. My condolences to all his family.

Hey Dad, It's only been a week and I miss you so much. I'm not going to hear your voice when you call and ask a trivia question or when we talk sports. You're in a good place now. I'll see you again someday.  Love, Your Susie-Q

I knew Bob by way of Michael and Sarah.  He seemed to be a happy peerson.  He usually was out in the garage socializing andd keeping track of the neighborhood.  H will be missed by many.

I lived next door to Bob and Sara for about 10 years, Bob was always a happy, funny guy. Very much the family man, he will be sorely missed.  My sincere sympathy to the Barron family
