It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father and friend Ramon Guizar III. He passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 30, surrounded by his wife and children.
Ramon was born in Superior, Arizona. At the age of 8, his family moved to Santa Paula where he attended local schools, graduating from Santa Paula Union High School in 1961. Upon his graduation, Ramon enlisted in the United States Air Force where he proudly served until 1967. He married his high school sweetheart Jeanie in 1962. Together they raised three beautiful children. Working as a team, Ramon and Jeanie instilled in their children a firm foundation of faith, love of family, all sports and nature. His children remember how Ramon would take time from his work and studies to read to them at bedtime. They also recall falling asleep to the sound of their father playing flamenco guitar.
Ramon received his law degree from the University of Southern California and a Teaching Degree from Cal Lutheran. He enjoyed careers in both fields. We will greatly miss sharing his love of sports – GO TROJANS! – but are comforted by his legacy of love and sense of humor.
Ramon was predeceased by his son Richard Anthony Guizar, father Ramon, mother Artemisa and beloved grandmother Damacia Perez. He is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 52 years, Jeanie; son Ramon (Loesje), grandsons Brendon and Callum; daughter Teresa (James), grandchildren Eugene, Daniel and Maria. He also leaves behind his sister Delia and brother Robert, and numerous nieces and nephews and extended family.
Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. with the rosary at 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at the Skillin-Carroll Mortuary at 738 E. Santa Paula St., Santa Paula, California. Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. at St. Sebastian Church, 235 N. 9th St., Santa Paula with burial following at Pierce Brothers Santa Paula Cemetery, 380 Cemetery Road, Santa Paula, California.
The Guizar family would like to extend a special Thank You to Livingston Memorial Hospice, Community Memorial Hospital and DaVita Dialysis Center.
