Carlos Arturo Motta

who went to be with his Lord and Savior on February 3, 2025. Born in Guatemala City,

Guatemala, to Carlos Arturo Motta Alvarado and Laura Isabel Arevalo de Motta, Carlos earned a

certificate in graphic design from ITED (Instituto Tecnológico de Electricidad y Dibujo) in

Guatemala.

Carlos worked for eight years as a maintenance mechanic at Johns Hopkins All Children’s

Hospital. He genuinely loved his work and embodied the hospital’s slogan: “All We Do, All for

Children.”

A man of deep faith, kindness, and creativity, Carlos’s hands were always busy—whether at

work, playing the guitar, drawing, or embracing the arts in all their forms.

A devoted husband and father, Carlos cherished every moment with his wife, Migdalia, and their

children, David and Danielle. He took great pride in supporting David’s band activities and

performances, joining his children on field trips, and being a constant source of encouragement.

Carlos had a profound love for the ocean, cooking, and world missions. His passion for sharing

the love of Christ led him to serve with Spirit Ships for two years and Mercy Ships (YWAM) for

three years. He also dedicated many years to children’s ministries and music ministry, using his

gifts to serve and inspire others.

Carlos is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Migdalia; his children, David and Danielle; his

parents, Carlos and Laura; and his siblings, Henry (Denna), Susy (Tony), Daniel (Melvy), and

Lesly (Gunther). He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Carlos Arturo Motta Jr., with

whom he is now reunited in heaven.

Carlos lived a life of love, faith, and service—his legacy will continue to inspire those who knew

him. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

A Celebration of Life service, officiated by Pastor Raymond Dick, will be held on Sunday,

February 16, at 5 PM at Grace Community Church, located at 4080 Lakewood Ranch Blvd N,

Lakewood Ranch, FL. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Robert Toale & Sons Celebration of Life Sarasota.

A GoFundMe page has been organized in Carlos’s honor to help ease the resulting burden on his

family during this difficult time.

The family expresses their heartfelt gratitude to Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital,

Lakeview Elementary, Grace Community Church, and all who have offered prayers, support, and

Con gran pesar, anunciamos el fallecimiento de Carlos Arturo Motta, de 51 años, residente de

Sarasota, Florida, quien partió a la presencia de su Señor y Salvador el 3 de febrero 2025. Carlos

nació en la Ciudad de Guatemala, Guatemala, hijo de Carlos Arturo Motta Alvarado y Laura

Isabel Arévalo de Motta. Obtuvo un certificado en diseño gráfico del ITED (Instituto

Tecnológico de Electricidad y Dibujo) en Guatemala.

Carlos trabajó durante ocho años como mecánico de mantenimiento en el Johns Hopkins All

Children’s Hospital. Era dedicado a su trabajo y personificaba el lema del hospital: “Todo lo que

hacemos, Todo por los niños.”

Hombre de profunda fe, bondadoso y creativo, Carlos siempre tenía las manos ocupadas, ya

fuera en su labor, tocando la guitarra, dibujando o disfrutando de las artes en todas sus formas.

Esposo y padre devoto, Carlos atesoraba cada momento con su esposa, Migdalia, y sus hijos,

David y Danielle. Sentía un inmenso orgullo al apoyar las actividades y presentaciones de la

banda de David, acompañar a sus hijos en excursiones escolares y ser una fuente constante de

aliento para ellos.

Carlos tenía un amor profundo por el mar, la cocina y las misiones. Su pasión por compartir el

amor de Cristo lo llevó a servir con Spirit Ships durante dos años y con Mercy Ships (YWAM)

durante tres años. Además, dedicó muchos años a los ministerios infantiles y al ministerio

musical, utilizando sus dones para servir e inspirar a otros.

Carlos deja un legado de amor, fe y servicio. Su recuerdo seguirá inspirando a quienes tuvieron

el privilegio de conocerlo.

Le sobreviven su amada esposa de 25 años, Migdalia; sus hijos, David y Danielle; sus padres,

Carlos y Laura; y sus hermanos Henry (Denna), Susy (Tony), Daniel (Melvy) y Lesly (Gunther).

Lo precedió en la muerte su querido hijo, Carlos Arturo Motta Jr., con quien ahora está reunido

en el cielo.

Una Celebración de Vida, oficiada por el Pastor Raymond Dick, se llevará a cabo el domingo 16

de febrero a las 5 PM en Grace Community Church, ubicada en 4080 Lakewood Ranch Blvd N,

Lakewood Ranch, FL. Los arreglos funerarios están a cargo de Robert Toale & Sons.
