Christena Fern Schlabach, 75, born Oct. 19, 1939, to Albert and Katie (Yoder) Schlabach in Johnson County, Iowa. She died Aug. 17, 2015 at Sarasota Memorial Hospital. Christina was the second-born of twelve children. She is survived by eleveln siblings, Martha (Perry) Bontrager, Dean (Tina) Schlabach, Alice Schlabach, Sadie (Ivan) Schmucker, Lorine (Cletus) Lambright, Mary Yoder, Allen (Kathy) Schlabach, Doris Schlabach, Jonas (Debbie) Schlabach, Earl (Dixie) Schlabach, Grace (David) Schumann, numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. Chris is remembered by her hospitality. She loved being a hostess, cooking and entertaining. Flowers and decorating were some of her gifts. Her nieces and nephews and great-nieces/nephews remember her by yearly birthday cards she sent them. Chris enjoyed being employed by the Drs. Michael and Wendy Katz. Their sons Jeremy and Jason held a special place in her heart. Chris loved her Lord and was a member of Shining Light Church.
