

Cynthia Ross Weston, of Sarasota, died peacefully at home, July 22, 2015. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, August 1, at 11:00 A.M. in St. Boniface Episcopal Church, Siesta Key.
Born in Quincy, MA and brought up in both Glen Ellyn, IL and Hingham, MA she started her travels young. Cynthia was a graduate of Derby and Thayer Academies as well as receiving a degree in Drama from Skidmore College. Cynthia’s travels truly began when she married, husband Lt.Col. Harold Weston (deceased), living in Morocco, Spain, and at multiple Air Force Bases in the U.S. She moved to Sarasota from Alexandria, VA twenty-four years ago retiring as an award winning realtor of the D.C. area.
A large and extended family mourns its matriarch. A daughter, Cindy Weston, and a son, Stuart Weston of Sarasota pre-deceased her. She is survived by her granddaughter Felicia Weston Welch, her two brothers Graham Ross of Chatham, MA and Peter Ross of Sarasota, and six nieces and nephews. Cynthia touched the lives of many through her travels and through her service.
Dedicated to her faith she has served as Altar Guild Director and Eucharistic Minister for both Grace Church, Alexandria, VA and St. Boniface, Sarasota, FL. Cynthia was a tireless volunteer for the Literacy Counsel, Resurrection House, and Selby Gardens. She was an avid Tennis player and a longtime member of the Bath and Racquet Club here in Sarasota. A student of language and culture she continued her fluency in Spanish and completed all classes available through Sarasota County Technical Institute. Her love for travel led her across the globe to Spain, England, Scotland, France, Germany, and many countries in the African continent.
Cynthia will be remembered by all those who knew her for her kindness, her strength of will and character, her grace, and her intense loyalty.
