Debra was respected and admired for being a fun person who knew how to do everything right. Her nickname as a child was “Mino” (Me know!) for this reason. Debra was a force of nature. If something needed to be done, you could count on her to do it properly. She was very opinionated and if she felt something should not be done, there was no moving her. She cared very much about nature, especially birds, dogs and horses. She loved gardening and was a master gardener and although she was highly allergic to mums, she won several awards for flower arranging using that allergic medium. She loved playing mah-jongg; bridge and she was a master at scrabble. She loved her daughters deeply, if imperfectly.
A graveside service for Debra will be held Thursday, August 7, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Pollock Memorial Cemetery, Louisiana Avenue, Asheville, NC 28806.
