

Donn A. DiPasquale — October 13, 1939 - September 2, 2016 Sarasota, FL: Donn passed away peacefully at Sarasota Memorial Hospital surrounded by his family on Friday, September 2, 2016 at the age of 76. He was predeceased by his parents, Samuel and Hellen DiPasquale. He is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 54 years, Valerie Scott DiPasquale, daughters, Suzanne McReady (James) of Annapolis, MD, Sharon Streit (Peter) of Madison, NJ, and son, Jeffrey DiPasquale and his fiancé Alyssa Malpass of Annapolis, MD. Donn is also survived by his five beloved grandchildren, Alexandra McReady, Ryan McReady, Kyle McReady, Katie Streit and Jack Streit; as well as his brother Benn DiPasquale (Angela Dentice) of Oconomowoc, WI; sisters Patricia Northup of Rochester, NY, and Susan Sando (Frank) of Afton, MN and many nieces and nephews. Born in Rochester, NY, Donn graduated from Brighton High School in 1957 and went on to obtain his undergraduate and law degree at Syracuse University. Upon graduation, he proudly served in the U.S. Army, including a one-year tour of duty in Vietnam. He earned the rank of Captain. He began practicing law in 1966 in the Monroe County DA’s office and then went into private practice for 33 years until his retirement in 1998. He also served as a Pittsford Town Justice for 17 years. Donn was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather, and a life long friend to many. He touched everyone who met him with his warm, welcoming smile, and his genuine, wise and compassionate way. He was an avid golfer and spent his retirement on many of the golf courses in Sarasota, FL, Rochester, NY and many places in between. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. The family would like to thank the doctors and staff in the Cardiac Unit at Sarasota Memorial Hospital. Celebration of life service will be held on October 7, 2016 at 1:30 p.m. at White Haven Memorial Park with a gathering to follow at Oak Hill Country Club from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations in Donn’s memory to one of the following: pediatric eye research at Duke Eye Center.
