Jean (as she was known) was born on May 22, 1953 in Haverhill Mass., the youngest of five daughters of Lewis and Claudia (Chard) Mansfield.
After high school she married David Patten of Belmont NH where they lived with their three children. David, Trisha and Sarah-jane. Years after their divorce David was tragically killed in an auto accident.
In 1986 Jean met her soulmate Robert Marquis. They married in February 1987. Living in Laconia NH, they truly enjoyed their 22 years together, especially their camping adventures and their trips to Florida. After Bob died of a brain tumor in 2008, Jean relocated to Florida to be near her daughters.
