Evelyn Louise Wetzel, age 96, of Sarasota, Florida passed away on Tuesday, September 9, 2025. She was born on October 21, 1928 in Warrendale, Pennsylvania to the late Frank and Elva Steigerwald Beveridge.
Evelyn, known affectionately as Grandma, Baca, Nana and GG to many, was a graduate of Mars High School in Mars, Pennsylvania. She retired from the Sarasota School Board as a Food Service Manager in many local schools, including Ashton Elementary and Lakeview Elementary. She was an avid Bingo player and a proud member of the DAV: Disabled American Veterans.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, James Wetzel and great-great grandson, Marvin Clark.
She is survived by her children, Nancy Richardson, Roy Richardson (TJ), Debbie McCarthy (Rick) and Shirlann Arbuckle (Thom) who she lived with and took care of her for the last 20 plus years; 9 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
There will be no services. Memorial donations in Evelyn's memory may be made to Tidewell Hospice, Inc, The Shriners, or the Disabled American Veterans.
