Homer Miller, 91, of Sarasota, FL passed away March 15, 2017. He was born in Topeka, Indiana, to David and Mattie Miller. He moved to Sarasota in 1946 and worked in the cabinet industry. He married Arvezine Hine and they became members of Bayshore Mennonite Church. He enjoyed many family camping trips and umpired softball and baseball for many years. He leaves behind his loving wife of 67 years and children: Charles (Tempie), Glenna (Rod) Shrock; his granddaughters Leah (Paul) Jakubowicz, Laura Markey, Alyssa (Corey) Woosley, Erika Shrock, Tara (Jose) Correa. Great grandchildren, Autumn Markey, Ryan and Eva Jakubowicz. His sister Vera (Eli) Herschberger. He was preceded in death by his son Bruce Miller. Visitation will be Monday, March 20, 2017 from 5:30-8:00 pm at Wiegand Brothers Funeral Home; 7454 S. Tamiami Trail, Sarasota, FL 34231. A private burial will take place on Tuesday, March 21, 2017. A celebration of life will follow at Bahia Vista Mennonite Church at 11am, followed by a luncheon at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bayshore Mennonite Church.
