John Robert Skyta

John Robert Skyta of Siesta Key, FL, formerly of Cherry Hill, NJ passed away on September 27, 2020. He was born in Absecon, NJ to John and Olive Skyta.
As a young boy John, developed a love for the outdoors especially planes and boats. He also became an amateur radio operator and communicated with people throughout the world.
John joined the US Navy and served on land and sea. After returning home, he was employed with the Radio Corporation of America and General Electric.
His passion for flying led him to become a pilot. He spent endless hours piloting different aircraft throughout the country. Of course a boat was always in the picture as well as unique automobiles that he bought and restored.
He also had a talent for construction and built a home on Long Beach Island, NJ where he spent many happy summers swimming, boating, sailing and fishing with his children, grandchildren and friends.
After visiting the Gulf Coast of Florida as “snowbirds” for several years, he decided to make Siesta Key his new home.
John will be greatly missed by his family and friends who will celebrate his life and his passion for wind and water.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Ann; daughter, Debra Ann (Nicola) Conicella; grandchildren, Alexander Conicella, Jillian (Nady) Hin, and Nicholas Conicella . He was preceded in death by a son, Gary Walter.
