Joyce Mary Cressey

Our beloved Mother Joyce Mary Cressey passed away Sunday July 6,2025 at the age of 90 in Sarasota, Florida. She has joined her husband John in eternal rest. She was born August 15th, 1934, to Mary and Frederick Wright in Bronx, New York. She was the middle child and had three sisters and three brothers: Frederick, Lorraine, Beryl, Lucille, George and Kevin. She met John while swimming in Kirk Lake where she spent summers with her family in Mahopac, New York. Joyce and John moved to Suffern, New York during their children's school years where they started Cressey Property Management. They retired in Sarasota and if you left a phone message you would hear "You have reached the Cresseys in paradise."

She is survived by her children Geraldine Cressey, Suzanne Cressey Schauble, Judson Cressey Junior, Stuart Cressey and Michelle Cressey, their spouses Mark, Joseph, Andrea and Toshiko, her grandchildren Shannon, Alexandra, Kurt, Morgan, Judson, Skylar, Olivia, Maxwell, Bradley, Emily, Sophie, Carlie, Melissa and Laura, their spouses Przemek, Brendan, Matt and Josh, her great grandchildren Avery, Emerson, Brennan, Eden, Boden, Carter, Haley, Mason, Charlotte, Alba and Owen.

Joyce was the Keeper of the Hearth. Everyone felt very loved and wanted to spend time with Mommy, Nana, Great Grandma at family parties, by the pool, out to eat, going for walks, for sleepovers and vacations at the condo. She was a philosopher at heart filled with life experiences, kindness, generosity, loyalty, a great sense of humor, and knowledge specific to each of our needs. Her door was always open, and she was just a phone call away. Mommy was the center of our universe, and she will be loved, missed and remembered beyond measure.

A private family service will take place Friday, July 11th at 11am at St. Thomas Moore Catholic Church in Sarasota.
