Judy Sonja Wies was born in Rehau, Germany on December 1, 1961. In 1963 she and her parents, Karl and Gisa Geier immigrated to the United States, settling in the Detroit Michigan area. In 1982 she met the love of her life Tim Wies, and they were married on March 20, 1982. Later that year, Judy and Tim moved to Nokomis, Florida to join the rest of the family where she worked at the family business, Geier’s Sausage Kitchen. Judy and Tim were married for 35 years and had three children. Judy was the matriarch of her family who she loved dearly and would do anything for them. She loved to crochet for her children and grandchildren and loved having her grandchildren running around her home. All of her eight grandchildren loved being in their Oma’s lap and cuddle in her arms. She enjoyed gardening and would often sit in her backyard enjoying the breeze. She fought a courageous 5 year battle with cancer, never giving up and continuing to follow her dreams, even traveling to Australia and Alaska. One week before her passing, she celebrated a cherished holiday family tradition of “Grinchmas,” at Universal Studios and visiting Disney Springs. Her fight and determination were evident in her beautiful eyes and were an inspiration to everyone who will forever remember her glowing smile. She will be sorrowfully missed by her beloved husband, Tim Wies: her children, Nicole (and Michael) Butler, Natasha (and Ryan) Daniels, and Mariah Wies; her sister Caroline (and Billy) Martin; her nieces Nakita (and Michael) Egloff, Cheyenne (and Zach) Schwind, and Sierra Chadwick; and her loving parents, Karl and Gisa Geier.
