Kathleen Ann Doss

She spent her early years in Cassadaga, NY... a beautiful spot near Buffalo. Later on, Kathy and her family decided to trade the northern chill for sunny skies, moving south and eventually graduating from Sarasota High School in Sarasota, Florida. She truly embraced the vibrant coastal life here making it her home!

On March 16,1963 Kathy embarked on her most profound adventure, uniting in marriage with the late Thomas M. Doss. Their union was nothing short of extraordinary-a partnership defined by countless shared journeys, endless support and a deep inspiring love.

Professionally Kathy started her career as a banker at United First Federal. She became a branch manger. She eventually found herself retiring in the early 2000's as a bookkeeper at the Sarasota Dialysis Center.

Beyond her professional life Kathy was a free spirit with an insatiable wanderlust and an appreciation for the natural world. She reveled in camping trips, boating, beach days, and the quiet joy of nature watching.

Her adventurous spirit also took her far and wide: She explored the landscapes of the Netherlands, the majestic wilderness of Alaska and, most notably, embarked on an epic one year long journey with Tom where together they visited every US state creating a lifetime of cherished memories and stories.

Although Kathy did not have any children of her own, she dedicated herself wholeheartedly to her nieces and nephews. She was affectionately an "aunt" to the children of close friends. Her love and support to them all was immeasurable.

Kathy was blessed to have made several treasured long-lasting friendships over the years. Her radiant spirit and generous heart will be profoundly missed, yet her legacy of love, adventure and kindness will continue to illuminate our paths. Kathy will forever be loved missed and cherished.

A memorial service for Kathy will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, February 16, 2026, at Robert Toale and Sons Funeral Home, 170 Honore Avenue in Sarasota. A reception will follow from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
