With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Laraine Marie Vaura, a truly amazing, caring, and loving mother and grandmother, who departed this world peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of unwavering love and strength.
Laraine was the heart and soul of our family—her kindness wrapped around us like a warm blanket, her laughter brightened our darkest days, and her strength held us together through every storm. She lived her life in quiet service to others, always putting family first and offering unconditional love, a listening ear, and the gentlest of hugs when they were needed most.
She is survived by her devoted children: her eldest daughter Gina, who brought both love and the loyal companionship of grand-dog Silica into Laraine’s life; her one and only son and steadfast caretaker for the past 24 years, Robert, who stood by her side with incredible dedication since the passing of her beloved husband, Robert; her daughter Kimberly, along with three of Laraine’s cherished grandchildren—Braden, Logan, and Kaleigh; and her youngest daughter Sherri, with her two treasured sons, Lantz and Jacob.
Laraine was preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert, her dear sister Doris, and her beloved mother Tillie. We take comfort in knowing that she is now reunited with them, wrapped in the eternal embrace of peace and love.
To know Laraine was to be loved by her. Her nurturing spirit, gentle humor, and enduring strength will forever echo in the hearts of those who were lucky enough to call her Mom, Grandmom, and friend.
Her legacy lives on in the stories we tell, the values she instilled, and the love that binds us together.
A celebration of Laraine’s life will be held at Robert Toale & Sons Celebration of Life Center, 7454 S. Tamiami Trail, Sarasota on Saturday, May 3 from 11am-1pm where we will gather to honor the beautiful life of a woman who gave so much, asked for so little, and loved without limits.
Rest easy, Mom. Your love is our compass, and your memory will forever be our light.
Forever etched in our hearts.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Jude for the kids and the SPCA for the neglected animals in Laraine's memory.
