She is also survived by her younger sister, Rose Bartz, of Temecula, CA and numerous nieces and nephews.
Millie was a member of Hurstbourne Country Club in Louisville, where she learned to play golf and played in the Snow Bunnies during the winter. She and Sam relocated to Sarasota 28 years ago, and she continued to golf at Prestancia Golf & Country Club. She represented the ladies league as a member of the winning Gulf Coast team several years running. Millie instilled that competitive spirit in all of her children! In addition to golf, Millie also enjoyed her Monday Canasta group.
Millie was a loving mother, grandma, great-grandma and homemaker who volunteered at her children’s school, tutored children with educational challenges, and served as a Brownie and Girl Scout leader.
The family would like to thank Rosa, Sherry and Rae of Epic Home Care, who provided companionship and care to Millie. Their kindness will not be forgotten.
Millie was cremated and a memorial will be planned for the future in Louisville, KY.
Memorial donations may be made in Millie’s honor to Ronald McDonald House Charities of Kentuckiana, 550 S. 1st Street, Louisville, KY 40202 or https://rmhc-Kentuckiana.org/get-involved/honor-memorial-gifts/
Millie will be greatly missed but we know she has returned to her Heavenly Father.
With a smile on her face she always answered the question “How are you?” with the three words that sum up her life: “BETTER THAN EVER!”
