She was born in Chicago, Illinois, on August 23, 1960, to the late John Robert Gregory and Frances Barbara Morgolle Gregory. On October 8, 1983, she married the love of her life, Walter Nicholas Dettling.
Nancy worked in food service for District 211 at Hoffman Estates High School and was a member of SNPJ. She had a deep passion for spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, as well as enjoying moments with friends.
She is survived by her loving husband, Walter Dettling; her son, Nicholas Paul Dettling and his wife, Jessica; her daughter, Renee Jean Dettling and her husband, Justin Lee Williams; her cherished grandchildren, Cora Mae Dettling, Ava Lynn Dettling, Lily Jean Williams, and Colton Lee Williams; and her siblings, John Frank Gregory and his wife, Patrice, Patricia Ann Gregory Maloney and her husband, Jim, and Robert Henry Gregory and his wife, Carol.
Cremation has been chosen, and a Celebration of Life will be on Saturday, June 27, 2026 from 11AM to 3PM at Robert Toale and Sons Funeral Home Celebration of Life Center at Siesta Key.
