

Romie Hilvano Miel, age 74, of Nokomis, Florida, passed away peacefully on June 14, 2024. Born on June 12, 1950, in Catbalogan Samar, Philippines, Romie was the beloved son of Juan C. Miel and Cresencia H. Hilvano.
Romie's journey through life was marked by a deep commitment to education and excellence. After completing his studies at Samar National High School, he pursued higher education at Sacred Heart College in the Philippines, earning both a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Science in Commerce with honors. His dedication to precision and organization extended far beyond his academic achievements; Romie excelled as a manufacturing supervisor engineer technician, leaving a lasting impact on his profession.
Known for his meticulous nature, Romie's penchant for order was evident in every aspect of his life. His handwriting, resembling typeface, his collection drawers meticulously curated with coins and keychains, and his wardrobe, always ready for any occasion, showcased his attention to detail. A lover of style, Romie adorned himself with a variety of collectibles—shoes, hats, watches, socks, shirts, and cologne—each chosen with care.
Above all, Romie cherished his family. His daughter, Arcelyn Perez, son-in-law Gabriel Perez, and grandchildren Randle Perez and Jayleen Perez held a special place in his heart. Arcelyn fondly remembers him as the perfect father and grandfather, always proud of their gifts and accomplishments, displaying their artwork and photographs with pride.
Romie's love story with his wife, Carolina, was one of romance and creativity. From writing heartfelt poems to painting beautiful artworks, he poured his soul into their relationship, creating memories that will endure beyond his lifetime.
A man of humor and light-heartedness, Romie approached life with a contagious laugh that could brighten any room. Like his beloved birds, he embraced life's adventures fully, from skydiving to ziplining, and his frequent travels to the Philippines mirrored his free spirit.

A visitation for Romeo will be held Monday, July 8, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Robert Toale and Sons Funeral Home - Wiegand Chapel, 7454 S TAMIAMI TRL, SARASOTA, FL 34231, followed by a funeral service at 3:00 PM.
