Sherri Lynn Teare

After a short and hard-fought battle with an aggressive cancer, Sherri Teare of Bradenton, Florida passed away on the morning of Friday, June 9, 2023. She was in hospice care with the Tidewell Center in Bradenton. Sherri was just 62 years old.

Sherri leaves behind her devoted husband of 40 years, Rodney (Bradenton), son Aaron (wife Caron) and daughter Sarah, all three living in Seattle. She also leaves two young grandsons, McCartney and William, both from Seattle. In addition to her immediate family, Sherri leaves behind her father, Lewis Waterfield of The Villages and sister, Jodi Dierdorf (husband Paul) of Sarasota.

At the time of her death, Mrs. Teare enjoyed a successful career as a Registered Nurse with Sarasota Memorial Hospital, where her colleagues will miss her cheerful attitude, friendly smile and her devotion to the care of her patients. An outdoor and sports enthusiast, she especially enjoyed Indy car racing, baseball, camping and hiking.

As a hiker, Sherri knew how to leave “trail signs” so those who followed would know her whereabouts. When she drew a large circle in the dirt, and placed a “dot” in the center of the circle, it was to let those that followed to know she has “Gone Home.” Sherri Teare has, in fact “Gone Home!”

A private cremation will be held and a future, to-be-scheduled “Celebration of Life” will be announced.
