

Stan graduated from Hoover High School in 1973. He went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in Law Enforcement Administration from Kent State University and a master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Akron. He devoted the majority of his law enforcement career to the North Canton Police Department. Throughout his working years, he also served with the Stark County Sheriff’s Office and worked for the Timken Company and the Ford Motor Company Canton Forge Plant.
Stan found joy in spending time with family and friends, relaxing at the beach, dancing, and taking walks with his beloved dog, Oliver. He will be remembered for his dedication to others, his warm spirit, and the love he shared with those around him.
He is survived by his children, Kathleen Crano, Angela (Daniel) Kelly, and Brian Strausser; grandchildren, Vanessa Crano, Zachary Crano, Joseph Kelly, Rachel Kelly, and Addison Strausser; sister and brother, Myrna Strausser and Raymond Strausser; nieces and nephews, Sheila Helton, Ronnie (Teresa) Mizner, Tara Mizner, and Brandon (Veronica) Strausser; sister-in-law, Diana Strausser, girlfriend, Cynthia Matusz; and his golden retriever, Oliver.
Loved ones that passed before him include his parents, Charles Strausser Jr. and Betty Strausser-Forney, brother, Charles Strausser III, wife, Nancy Lentsch-Strausser, son-in-law, Richard Crano, and nephew-in-law, John Helton.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on June 19, 2026, at Karlo-Libby Funeral Home, 5000 Everhard Rd. NW, Canton, OH 44718.
