I have had the benefit of knowing Steve for over 40 years.  

What I remember most about Steve was his heart, his humor and his head. As an example of his heart, many years ago when my first wife was very ill, he and Allen came over several times to provide meals for our family.  He followed up after her passing by having me for dinner at his home several times.  He and Allen made the process much easier. 

Steve, though a quiet man, was a master at humor and would provide us one liners that would make our sides split.  

Steve was also very intelligent and had a sharp legal mind.  One time when he was settling an estate for the bank he worked for and had to deal with a very adversarial attorney.  This attorney cited a Florida statute and provided that as the key point  of his argument.  Steve looked at him and asked him to read the rest of the statute.  That attorney did and he quickly found out that the rest of the statute negated all of the argument points.  Steve had done his homework.

Steve is sorely missed, but he left and example which benefits many.

I always will remember playing many enjoyable rounds of golf at the Laurel Oak Country Club with Steve.  Mike Anderson named Steve "Stevie Wonder" for all the unusual shots he created.  Phyllis and I would like to express our deepest sympathy!
